In occasione della penultima giornata dell’European Action Coalition for the Right to Housing and the City, attivist3 per il diritto all’Abitare da tutta Europa hanno rivendicato il lusso nascosto tra le mura di The Social Hub (ex The Student Hotel), studentato di lusso che specula sul mercato degli affitti in ben 8 paesi del mondo. Tra le sue proprietà immobiliari, gli spazi dell’Ex-Telecom, adibiti dalla società ad alloggi e servizi accessibili solo a caro prezzo. 10 anni fa, all’interno di quello stesso stabile in via Fioravanti 27, più di 280 persone resistevano ad uno sgombero violento determinato a porre fine ad una delle esperienza d’occupazione più grandi della città di Bologna.

On the penultimate day of the European Action Coalition for the Right to Housing and the City, housing rights activists from around the world expose the hidden luxury within the walls of The Social Hub (formerly The Student Hotel), a premium student residence that speculates on the rental market across 8 countries. Among its real estate holdings are the former Telecom spaces, converted by the company into accommodations and services accessible only at high prices. Ten years ago, within that same building on Via Fioravanti 27, more than 280 people resisted a violent eviction aimed at putting an end to one of the largest squat occupations in the city of Bologna.
